About Open Hand Elgin
Open Hand Elgin is a non-profit organization based in Elgin, Illinois. We are dedicated to providing meals, necessities, and shelter for the homeless community. Our mission is to raise awareness, accept donations, connect with volunteers, and help in finding housing for those in need. Through our collaborative efforts, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate.

Our short term goals are to open a storefront office where we can give out needed items, have clothes washers and dryers, do life coaching and counseling, make referral's to other agencies, etc.
Our long term goal is to open both shelters and a two year live in program to help people get back on their feet. While Veterans always have priority services, Open hand turns no one away.
We realize that a hand out is only the start of a Hand UP.
